By plane
Due to the proximity of Viterbo to Rome, the nearest airports are Roma Fiumicino and Roma Ciampino.
Buses will be organized to easily reach Viterbo from the airport without taking trains. However, the service will mainly be organized from Roma Fiumicino, so please try to arrive there. Being the second largest airport in Europe, it is connected with almost every city.
If Roma Fiumicino is not an option for you, please indicate this in the registration form and we will try to find a solution.
If the bus schedule does not fit your arrival time, you can reach Viterbo by train in the following ways:
Fiumicino – Viterbo Porta Romana (recommended) :
Search on www.trenitalia.com for the earliest connection. It usually takes up to 2 hours due to the lack of a direct connection. You will need to change trains in Roma Trastevere or other stations. Please follow the website indications to avoid closed stations.
The hotels we provided are a maximum of 10 minutes by walk from the station.
Fiumicino – Roma Termini – Orte:
You can also reach Orte instead of Viterbo via high-speed connections from Roma Termini. Roma Termini can be easily reached via the Leonardo Express train from Roma Fiumicino.
From the Orte station, small buses will also be available for those traveling by train, but you will have to mention it on the registration form or tell us at least 3 weeks in advance if you plan to use this option, so that we can organize the correct number of buses. Alternatively, connections to Viterbo are provided by buses or trains.
Please be aware that Roma Fiumicino covers an area of 29 km², and reaching the train station from the arrival gates requires a 10–15 minute walk. The train station is located inside the airport on the first floor and is clearly indicated by signs.
By train
The main high-speed train connections from different locations in Italy arrive at Orte station (20 km from Viterbo). Buses will be provided at different times on the arrival day based on the information you provide in the registration form. Please indicate your expected arrival time, and if it changes before the event, inform us at least three weeks in advance. Otherwise, you will need to reach Viterbo via train connections or buses.
